No wonder the CEBU CITY MAYOR RAMA was able to gain adherents from, say, the mountain barangays where his infrastructure projects are visible and in Cebu City. No wonder, too, that the mayor, who looked lonely after he bolted from the BOPK early in his term, has looked formidable as a candidate because of the perception that he was able to deliver the services that his predecessor, Osmeña, failed to attend to because of his obsession with the South Road Properties. Rama repaved numerous roads, got Osmena Blvd walkways all widened and recemented, and built numerous parks which the city desparately needs.

At a snail’s pace for Osmena?

What happened to the case against Rep. Tomas Osmeña (Cebu City, south district) on the “donation” of two imported Dodge Charger vehicles by Bigfoot management to the City in his last term as mayor? Instead of turning over the vehicles to the City Government when Michael Rama took over as mayor, Tomas used these personally.
When exposed in the media, the honorable congressman “manufactured” documents showing that his sister Minnie Osmeña Stuart and nephew Paolo bought it from Michael Gleissner, Bigfoot chief. The vehicles had “Cebu City Police” markings, which Tomas had repainted, and a siren.  See an earlier expose on this deal here    http://osmenacebu.blogspot.com/2013/03/probe-against-osmena-begins-cebu.html

The issue is not so complicated and not too technical to investigate unlike the ombudsman’s probe on the Cebu International Convention Center. But why, six months after it was filed, has the anti-graft office not resolved the issue? Is it afraid of Tomas? Or it is because he is allied with the powers that be? Can we hear an explanation from Deputy Ombudsman for the Visayas Pelagio Apostol on this matter?   Read the original article herehttp://www.sunstar.com.ph/cebu/opinion/2013/03/03/nalzaro-snail-s-pace-271038
